What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back Area?

I have had some pain in my lower back area for a couple weeks. Two weeks ago, I went to the doctor. He thought it likely that I had a kidney stone, so he drew blood and ran a blood panel. Everything came back normal. Yesterday I woke up feeling sick. I vomited at about 8am and have been in been ever since. I ve eaten some crackers and a little ice cream and drank water and ginger ale. I am no longer nauseous, but I continue to have discomfort in my lower back area and my testes ache a bit. My abdominal region feels tender.

Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan to rule out spine related problems like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
