What Causes Severe Pain In The Legs While Suffering From Lower Backache?

Hello I m writing this to see if I should go to the emergency room for extreme lower back pain. I was hurt on the job three months ago and I ve been out of work. my workers comp case with denied, I ve been seeing a worker s comp doctor and he prescribed me medication but I haven t had a MRI right now my legs it s hurting and now I have a lower back pain shooting from my back to where I can t walk and I can t sleep, can t sit I m afraid to go to the e.r. and be treated like a drug addict I just want to know if they ll be able to give me the MRI or try to schedule me one thank you

Hello,

Most probably it will be due to spine related problems like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.
