Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In The Head And Dizziness?
My husband has suffered from post shingles for over 13 years now. At the beginning and as it grew more painful over time, we could not find a doctor who would consider the head pain (frontal area) was being caused from shingles. So, as time went on the pain level has gotten so much worse, as well a developing dizziness and light sensitivity. All three are now reaching above the 9 or 10 range and this has been going on for a long time. I do not know if you could suggest something he has not tried.
After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that shingles do not cause any headaches specifically after recovery. If your husband is suffering with chronic severe headaches with dizziness then requires proper evaluation.
Kindly get an NCCT head & MRI brain and a consult a neurologist with reports for further treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap,
Cardiologist
