What Causes Severe Pain In The Abdomen Proceeding Till The Back?

I m having severe pain on the right side of my abdomen and around to my back. I went to E.R. at 1:30 am and after a CT, Ultrasound on my Gall Bladder, blood test, and urine test they said they could find nothing wrong. This pain is constant and it alternates with what feels like someone is squeezing my insides very hard for a while and then letting go. It s been like this for almost 24 hours. I do have a history of kidney stones but they said this pain is not attributed to them. I don t know what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because all the tests and examinations are normal, very likely the pain you are experiencing is muscular in nature. You may need to use pain killers to help with the pain. Ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours after food and Tylenol 500 mg every 6 hours can be taken to help with the pain. Local warm compresses for 15-20 minutes may be helpful as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
