Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why do I have severe aching in my knees when I m tired? This happens with or without a lot of walking/exercise. The same pain no matter the activity during the day. It only happens when I m very tired, mostly after one of my 12 hour shifts. I also have constant pain in my feet that never goes away but does fluctuate in terms of intensity. I can only describe it as being similar to the pain described with people who have nueropathy. Maybe there is a connection between the two problems?
The pains in the knees can be explained as caused by arthritis, as this is constant, not much related to the walking / exercises , more when you are tired after 12 hour shift. The pain in the foot can be due to arthritis there too. But since you are describing this as neuropathy, it is possible that you are diabetic ...
I would advise you the following: First of all get blood and urine checked- blood for sugar , Rheumatoid factors , ESR and other relevant as advised by your Orthopedic Surgeon. MRI of the knee joints to know the level of destruction.
Get the treatment as per the findings of the reports and an opinion of an Orthopedic Surgeon.
