What Causes Severe Pain In Calf Radiating To The Foot?
I have lower leg pain in my calf and down. It is worst when I stand and walking. When sitting it is not there. I went to my chiropractor to do an adjustment several times and that did not help. Pain pills barely work. I have no problem when I sleep. It is worst in my right leg and not so bad in my left.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe pain in calf radiating to the foot. The symptoms you mention can cause by disc problem . soft tissure injury like ligament tear and fracture can also cause such symptoms . Twisting and turning while lifting is also one of the major reason for this problem . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan ,MRI , myelogram , nerve conduction test along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe percocet , gabapentin , muscle relaxant along with cortisone injection . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy , which will help alot and surgery in some severe cases. Keep your legs in hot water tub with espom salt for 15 minutes.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
