What Causes Severe Nose Bleeds In Adults?

For the past 4-5 months I have occasionally had a bloody nose. At first only once every other week but now it is more frequent, sometimes twice in one week. It is always the left sinus. I thought maybe I had scratch myself but that does not seem to be the case. Bloody noses have never been an issue in my entire life, so this is somewhat puzzling. I also thought maybe dust and pollen were a problem in the spring, but, it is now fall and the problem continues. Any suggestions?

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM
Dear most common cause for nose bleed is nose pricking, other causes like hypertension, Acute sinusitis, Allergies, Aspirin use, Hemophilia (and other bleeding disorders), Blood thinners (anticoagulants), such as warfarin and heparin
Chemical irritants, such as ammonia, Chronic sinusitis, Cocaine use, Common cold, Deviated septum, Foreign body in the nose
Nasal sprays, such as those used to treat allergies, if used frequently, Nonallergic rhinitis, Trauma to the nose.

So use normal Saline nasal spray, do nose packing of your getting severe bleeding, avoid dry environment, use room humidifier. Still symptoms persisten you need to consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
