What Causes Severe Lower Back Pain, Frequent Urination And Cold Sweats?

I just received a call from my daughter that she has extreme pain in her lower back accompanied by a need to urinate, cold sweats, and a pain and swelling in the vaginal area. She was diagnosed with a kidney stone but has failed to pass it. Question...would swelling in the vaginal area be related to a kidney stone?
