What Causes Severe Leg Pain And Lightheadedness?

I went into A-fib a few days ago while on a trip, so had to be hospitalized and scoped and shocked again to get heart back into rhythm. They took me off my Toporal XL and put me on Meltaq an antiarythmic but I really don t feel right at all, seems powerful. I am light headed, weak and have leg aching. I see my heart doctor in a week she is booked solid. Could I change back to my Toporal without upsetting the balance as I don t want to go back into A-fib. Is this something I can do or just wait until I see my cardiologist.

Hi There

I have read your case and understood your area of concern. See Dear, your previous medication was to slow your heart rate. As You got an attack of Atrial Fibrilation that was a change in rhythm and you will have a tendency to develop it again in future . So better to continue with the Antiarrythmic medicine because Arrythmias can lead life threatening conditions like stroke.

As a side effect of Multaq you are feeling lightheartedness. Take any painkiller for leg pain. See your cardiologist on time to time and don't switch to any other medication without consulting the doc.

Wish you a Rythmic Life.
