Hi dear thanks for contacting HCM.

If you have history of trauma then by muscle strain or tendon tear, pain can be there.

Second pain could be by nerve affection ex.by diabetic neuropathy ...So if diabetic patient it is to be ruled out.

The vein thrombosis ex.deep vein thrombosis can lead such pain.colour Doppler like investigation if needed after physical examination can be done.

If history of trauma and swelling present x ray done for identifying fracture.

For pain you can take brufen or any other simple analgesic..

Take care...
