What Causes Severe Knee Pain After An Arthroscopic Knee Surgery?
I had artoscopic knee surgery over two weeks ago. Last weekend I had full range of motion and felt good. Minor pain. I went out over the weekend and walked for several hours. The pain was very intense by the time I got home. I called and talked to the nurse who advised me to rest and ice. The pain has gotten worse and is radiating down to the top of my toe. I have been out of work all week but was back to work prior to last weekend. Could I have damaged something else?
The most common reason why patients have persistent pain after an arthroscopic knee surgery is that their knee has damage to the cartilage of the joint that can't be adequately repaired by an arthroscopic procedure.
Also, may be due to infection or effusion may cause pain.
Apply warm and cold compression. Use antibiotics if necessary. Take painkiller medication.
If symptoms not improved please consult your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
