What Causes Severe Itching In The Pubic Area?

Hello. For the last 5-6 months I have had this really bad itchiness in my pubic area. I use cream to remove hair which I have always done. However once my hair starts to grow I start itching like mad which is when I m mostly in bed at night. And then it s starts bleeding and is very painful. I m certain it s not thrush. Not sure what it is.

Hi,

1. first of all these are the symptoms that you are suffering from folliculitis. It happens when you break the hair follicle while shaving your hair.
2. you can use Mycoderm powder after taking bath n thorough cleaning over the area you shaved.
3. use lactocalamine lotion over it to reduce itchiness and redness.
4. wear cotton undergarments.
5. maintain proper hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Infectious Diseases Specialist
