What Causes Severe Itching And A Red Spot In The Sternum?

I have extreme itching at times, maybe more so in the evening, not usually when I am in bed for the night. Now my skin has started to turn bright dark red like bruises, often times where I have itched, but now discovered a bright red spot on my sternum.

Hello!

Thank you for trusting HCM!

Bright red spot/itching may be due to allergic or contact dermatitis. It may be due to seat belt bruising or may be due to tenia infection. Herpes zoster may also present like this.

Until examination of the lesion it is difficult to say what it is. Please avoid allergen and apply moisturizer cream. Please consult your dermatologist. He will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
