What Causes Severe Heartburn After Taking Pylera And Prilosec?
My 18 year old son has been diagnosed with h.pylori. The doctor prescribed Pylera and Prilosec. He has been taking it for 4 days now and is having severe heartburn, even when eating very bland foods. Is there anything he can take to counteract the heartburn? He was taking CVS Supreme antiacid liquid, but stopped it when he started the antibiotics.

Hi dear thanks for writing.. Heartburn is due to side effect of Pylera and H.Pylori infection to prevent continue taking Prilosec and avoid spicy food.. Give him bland food only and cold milk if possible. it will be a temporary side effect, you can increase the dose of prilosec under your doctor's advise.. hope this information helps
