What Causes Severe Headaches After Stopping Nexito Forte?

Sir , is nexito forte a addiction tablet as my mom has been prescribed to these tablet for six months but after that she has taken for extra one month and is not ready to leave , giving reason that she gets heavy headache if she stops taken the medicine

I appreciate your concern your beloved mom who unfortunately seems to have developed withdrawal symptoms if she stops taking Nexito Forte.

Nexito Forte contains Clonazepam & Escitalopram and is commonly prescribed for the treatment of depression, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and other conditions.

Since your mom has been taking Nexito forte since last six months its sudden stoppage will lead to withdrawal symptoms.

Best way to wean off the drug is by gradually reducing the dose of drug. Start reducing the dose of about 25% every 2 weeks & stop completely at about 6-8 week. This is how the medicine can be discontinued without having withdrawal symptoms like headache, etc. She can start with plain Nexito (Escitalopram) for next 2 weeks and then reduce the dose every two weeks.

I would advise her to consult a psychiatrist for detailed treatment.
