What Causes Severe Headache Along With Vomiting In A Child?

Just took 8 yr old swimming at community pool for a little over 1 hr. She did a lot of underwater swimming including handstands. Right after we got home she complained of a really bad headache on the left side and then she vomited. I put ice packs on her forehead then she fell asleep. What to do?

Hi
Ur child most probably had an acute sinusitis. Usually excessive swimming or even moving to an excessive humid place ll bring about this. Sinuses are the air spaces in the bony skeliton of face. If its waterlogged causes headache. Unless infected, its self resolving. I would advice inhalation of hot steam as a primary measure. Nothing to worry about unless its recurring.
