What Causes Severe Gout On The Knees?

I have recently found a cure to my severe monthly gout attacks. Cherry Extract pills. It has worked great, No gout for over 9 months now. Not even a minor flare. Recently however, I have severe pain in my right knee. I have not injured or overworked my knee in any way, yet I get repeated extremely sharp pain that comes and goes. It hurts really bad for an hour or two, then goes away. Advil has helped a lot I am sure. My only concern is that the pain is getting worse every time, and it keeps happening. The pain is deep in the bone. Makes me think I may have bone cancer or something, but not likely I am sure. Should I see a Doctor?

Hi,

Gout is more characteristic for thumb pain and less likely for the knee joint.

The treatment of gout is Allopurinol and NSAIDs like Celecoxib or Colchicine.

You can see a doctor and also do an X-ray of the joint too, in order to be sure for diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
