What Causes Severe Facial Acne While On Wellbutrin And Zoloft?

I ve been taken Wellbutrin and Zoloft together. I have noticed my acne has increased. I haven t been wearing any makeup which I think the medication is the only reason. I haven t seen any side effects where the combo of the medications cause acne. Is there a connection?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe facial acne while on Wellbutrin and Zoloft . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like oily skin , skin infection , side effects of some medicine and allergic reaction . As you are taking antidepressants medicine ,which can also cause side effects so consult doctor who prescribed it . In case of oily skin , oil ,dead skin and bacteria get entrapped in sebaceous pores and cause infection and form acne . I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing benzoyl peroxide twice a day and then apply cream containing azelaic acid twice a day after washing face . Exfoliate your skin once week to remove the dead skin . Keep your face dust free and prevent it from excessive sun exposure . If condition doesn't get well in a month then consult dermatologits for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically and order blood tests . Doctor may prescribe retinoids , antibiotics ( clindamycin ) or isoteritenoin .
