Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have inner thigh cramping that are extremely painful and takes my rubbing it for 10 minutes or more while I break out in a pain-sweat. I use soap to rub on the muscle. How do I avoid getting this pain in the first place. Also, if it s not the inner thigh, my hamstring knots so tight that it actually has ridges when I rub it too. By the way, it is always my right leg.
Having continuous inner thigh cramping could be due to possible over exercised of the leg or lack of magnesium. Furthermore, liver diseases and use of statins can cause damages to the muscle and such sudden inner thigh cramping.
Apart from pain medication and applying analgesic cream locally, you can use: - Magnesium and calcium supplements. - If you take statins, stop using them and report this side effect to your doctor. - Check your liver/ kidney function test. - Run some simple exercises to relieve the pain including stretching and other physiotherapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Albana Sejdini
