What Causes Severe Cramps In The Inner Thigh Muscle?

Last night I had a horrible inner thigh muscle cramp...also large thigh muscle cramp in front. This happened at night. Almost got sick to stomach...almost passed out. What can I do to stop this excruciating pain quickly. When I would get a calf cramp, I get nearly always get instant relief by jumping out of bed and simply standing on the affected leg. I have heavier legs and all the massaging I was trying to do gave me no relief from the thigh cramping. What can you recommend should this happen again?

Hi,

As it looks like you are prone to muscle cramps every now and then of the lower limb region like the thighs and the legs, where leg cramps are easy to manage off but not the thigh one. Usually thighs don't get cramp, but in very few it occurs.

Now muscle cramps are due to the sodium channels at the neuromuscular junction where the sodium channels fail to workout, you can try to take a pinch of salt and see if it works for you. Also, on term this may become more and may need to get examined.

You should start getting involved in physical activity like exercises which helps the metabolic functions to come-up and avoid such channel blockages to avoid cramps and other symptoms. In case if it doesn't resolve with conservative management than try for some physician meet up and get it assessed with him.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
