What Causes Severe Cough And Pink Spots At The Back Of The Throat?
Hi, last week I had a cough and cold that lasted for about 3 days and with home treatment seemed to go away. However for the past 4 days I have had a hurrendous cough. I have small pink bumps on the back of my throat and have dark red veins beggining to appear, I am finding it very hard to swallow and have no appetite. If I went to my doctor would they prescribe antibiotics or could this be cured with home treatment?Thankyou.
Hello and welcome Looking at your description it seems that you might be having Upper respiratory tract infection or inflammation of the throat due to allergic reaction.
Since you have asked for home treatment, I will suggest you to follow these measures if it doesn't help than you may require a course of antibiotics. avoid cold drinks and ice cream Do gargling with warm saline water or antiseptic mouth wash. Steam inhalation will definitely help you. honey mixed with ginger juice is advisable anti allergic drug like levocetirizine or fexofenadine, you can take for symptomatic relief.
In my opinion you should take azithromycun or Co Amoxiclav group of antibiotics under supervision.
Hope I could answer your question. Best wishes
