What Causes Severe Cough Along With Profuse Sweating And Headaches?

I am a 64 year woman who is generally healthy however I developed a very bad cough over a week ago. I have been on antibiotics for over 72 hour now and although the cough is much better, I am sweating and feel like my temperature is getting worse. It was only 37.5 when they put me on antibiotics and it is now at least 38 (I may have taken it out prematurely). I have a bit of a headache for which I ve taken a couple of tylenol. I have virtually no appetite. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi, i've read your question and understand your concerns. The condition that you may have been suffering most likely is a lung infection. The improvement in your cough shows that the antibiotics are effective in clearing your infection. Sweating is usually a good sign indicating that your temperature is dropping. But what you have written seems to contradict. If i were your treating physician i would suggest you to continue the antibiotic therapy along with tylenol to bring down your temperature gradually.
take in a lot of fluids and fresh fruits and vegetables. take good rest.
wish you a speedy recovery maam!
