What Causes Severe Chest Pain Radiating Towards Right Arm Caused After Injury?

Last week I fell face first onto the ground a banged my chest very hard. I m a larger lady and came down with a lot of force. For the first few days the pain seemed to be in my chest especially when taking a deep breath or coughing/laughing, however, yesterday and today the pain is more in my right breast and underneath my right arm. I cannot get comfortable and often cry out in pain when I move. Ive been taking Brufen 400mg but I m not sure it s helping. Could I have done some serious damage? How can I manage the pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Looking to the history it seems that you might be having severe strain on chest muscles with spasm.
There is also a possibility of having fracture of one or more ribs as you are overweight causing more weight on chest during fall.
I advice you to go for x-ray chest AP view for fracture.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Meanwhile take Diclophenic with paracetamol combination or Tramadol medicine with some antacid for severe pain.
Ok and take care.
