What Causes Severe Cellulitis On Lower Leg Despite Taking Antibiotics?

Husband has severe cellulitis on lower right leg. General practitioner is treating with broad sprectrum antibiotics, however, pain continues to exist, healing process not seeming to occur. Antibiotics on-going over 1.5 months. What should we do to heal this wound. Thank you

Hi, i do care for your concern.
cellulitis for this long duration, there might be other associated conditions that should be checked.
I would advise
1) To check for blood glucose levels, and to maintain in under normal values strictly is a must.
2) The pus culture should be done, antibiotic sensitivity test should be done, and medicines should be changed according to it.
3) It is advisable to consult a general surgeon, and wound debridement should be attempted.
4) Along with this proper intravenous antibiotic should help in recovery.
