What Causes Severe Burning Sensation In The Body?

Hi there I am a registered nurse and have been working in my field for over 12 yrs now. I am at a loss when it comes to my husband. about 2 yrs ago he remembers being out an inspection of a home which was under construction and in a woodys area. He felt a sharp shooting pain in the chest came home and had a bulls eye mark which he looked up and figured it must have been a tick. fast forward he is suffering from insomnia due to constantly feeling like his skin is on fire. He will shower 3-7x per day when it is bad he swears that there are fiber like substances coming out of his skin and when he puts on lotion aquaphor, cetaphil, aveeno tiny black specs appear all over his skin. He get the sensation of biting him although logically he knows nothing is truly biting him it certainly feels this way. His joints constantly hurt. He is literally going to fall apart if he continues at this rate. He swears that washing his body with dish soap ie dawn or palmolive dish soap, drinking organic grape juice helps somewhat. I currently have him doing an herbal yeast cleanse and taking a good probiotic vsl. His stomach is distended and realatively firm. Complains of ulcer like symptoms as well. He is an ex football player 6 4 and 300lbs. he is fairly muscular and lean everywhere expect his abdomen where it is like a typical fat roll he looks 9 months pregnant and he is constantly having abdominal discomfort. Please help me. He doesn t want to waste the money going to a doc he doesn t know who will blow off his symptoms and not listen to him.
