What Causes Severe Burning In Throat, Constipation, Headache And Low WBC Count?

ON DICLOXACILLIN 500MG 4X/DAY/week FOLLOWING BENIGN CYST REMOVAL. WEIGHT-137LB, HEIGHT5 3 . I am having severe burning in my throat/esophgus, severe constipation, occasional headaches. I already have low count white blood cells, low monocytes, MGUS, earlier diagnosis of Stage 2 kidney disease, although kidney are testing normal filtration. Should I see my PC Doctor?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, these can be due to antibiotics usage or may also be due to gastritis. In any case, you will need antacids before meals.

Ranitidine can be safer as omeprazole or other PPIs can cause a further drop in white cell counts so should better be avoided. Sucralfate may also be used.

Consulting your primary doctor and getting fresh counts is better.
