Severe body pain, fatigue and exhaustion are probably due to viral syndrome , hypothyroidism , diabetes , anemia or throat infection , which can occur both due to viral or bacterial infection . commonly it occur due to viral infection accompanied by flu like symptoms as you mention .I would suggest you to do gargles with warm saline water , drink plenty of fluid to keep your self hydrate , take ibuprofen (if not allergic ) or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation and take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl. Usually virus complete its course , so drugs are given to relief symptoms . If symptoms persist or get worse then you should consult general practitioner for proper examination and to rule out conditions like acid reflux and bacterial infection . Doctor may order blood test , check vitals or throat swab test to confirm diagnosis . He/she may prescribe decongestants , antibiotics/antiviral depending upon your condition .
