Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I Started having severe burning pain in my back around the spine and running around my shoulder blade around my right side and under my breast and stops about at the middle of my stomach. It hurts to touch and the pain is almost unbearable. I have not seen any blisters but I am absolutely miserable with this. This started on Wednesday.
The pain you describe seems similar to the one in shingles and sometimes the pain can be present even though the skin lesions have not appeared.
To help with the pain you can take high dose Ibuprofen every 6-8 hours after food and also codeine 30 mg every 6 hours for 4-5 days. Local cool compresses or local capsaicin might be tried as well to ease the pain.
If you notice no improvement with this or you notice any worsening please see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Zotaj Antoneta, General & Family Physician
