What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain?

I have been having abdominal pain/discomfort for about 7 days now. The first two days were Horrible. It was very sharp and difficult to walk. The pain eased up on the third day when my period started so I figured that it was related to that. The pain gets lighter everyday but it s still very uncomfortable. It feels as if I have to have a Bowel movement and menstrual cramps. The pain is mainly on my lower right side but it transfers throughout my abdomen.

Hello,

Abdominal pain during menstruation can happen due to hormonal changes happening during that period. Progesterone cause bowel hypermotility and causes diarrhea. It happens to many people. You can take antispasmodic like Cyclopam, Meftal spas, etcetera. It will get subsided soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
