What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps And Vaginal Spotting?

Hello I had protected sex 2 days ago and havent had sex for the last 7 months. I finished my last period on July 2. Today I started having cramps and spotting. I am just not sure what this is. If it is my period starting, I could be pregnant or just some after affects of having sex. Any help would be great

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, we should first rule out pregnancy in your case. So get done urinary pregnancy test and ultrasound examination of abdomen to rule pregnancy.
If both these are negative then no need to worry for pregnancy.
Sometimes protected intercourse can also cause infection and this can cause abnormal vaginal discharge (spotting) and abdominal pain.
So consult gynecologist and get done clinical examination and microscopic examination of discharge to rule out infection.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
