What Causes Severe Abdomen Pain And Vomiting?

I have been experiencing horrible upper belly pain and feel like i have eaten a huge meal, but in fact can t eat anything. The pain is worse at night and i have been vomiting as well. How do I know if it is an ulcer or a liver issue. I drink alcohol on a regular basis.

Hello and welcome to 'Ask a Doctor' service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The pain in your abdomen can be due to gastritis (inflammation in stomach) or any peptic disease. This most commonly occurs due to excessive alcohol intake, irregular eating habit, oily and spicy food intake. I would have prescribed my patient with these symptoms a tab pantoprazole. You can take advice from your local doctor for a prescription.

Also, maintain your dietary schedule, reduce your intake of alcohol, and eat less spicy food. To know if its an ulcer you need an examination and also endoscopy to confirm diagnosis. But this should be only after your doctor suggests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suhas Chauhan
