What Causes Sensitive And Painful Bump On The Top Of Foot?

i dropped something heavy on the top of my foot, just shy of the base of my toes, I had xrays done, no break but now (over a week later) there is a knot on the top. I can walk fine, but the area aches and the knot (bump) is sensitive to the touch. What is this and what can I do about it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern. the bump seems to be a small contusion due to the injury sustained. this should slowly subside on its own. i would advise anti inflammatory drug like diclofenac and chymoral forte which would hasten the healing . in case the problem still exists a consultation with an orthopaedecian is advised for removal of the lump. hope you are satisfied with the response. thanks for choosing HCM
