What Causes Scanty Menstrual Bleeding And Vaginal Spotting?

Hello, I m 36 years old. I had a myomectomy done in May 2016. My periods were just fine after the surgery. After 7 months my periods got very light, only 2-3 days of bleeding/spotting, dry and brown and with clots. It worries me. Please, advise what I should do. Regards.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

36 plus 7 is 43 which means you may be entering perimenopausal stage when the bleeding duration will go on decreasing. You should go for ultrasound and test sex hormone levels to clear the doubt.
Also, get your haemoglobin (hb) level, blood pressure and blood sugar level assessed as anaemia may be the cause of decreased bleeding.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
