What Causes Scanty Menstrual Bleeding And Nausea?

Hi I have been experiencing some strange symptoms lately. I had my period a week ago but it was abnormally light for what I usually had. I only had to use one tampon per day. I have also been experiencing nausea and vomiting and a loss of appetite. Every time I eat I feel very sick. I have also been experiencing indigestion and heart burn.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are two possibilities with your symptoms.

- Either you have early pregnancy, provided you had unprotected sex during fertile days. The pregnancy can be diagnosed after 8 days of bleeding Or USG after one more month.
- Co incident gastritis/ liver problems need to be ruled our . by consulting your family physician.
- Till then pills of Ranitidine over the counter / Tab. Perinorm( only one dose )/ eating non spicy diet, avoiding tea, coffee or fast will help.
