What Causes Sac With Yellow Pus Ball On Right Side Of Throat?

I currently have [inside my mouth] a sac on the right side of my throat. Every 4-6 months or so, i notice what look like whiteheads where the sac is, and i pop it. 5 mins ago i got a hard pus-like yellow 5mm long 4 mm wide ball out of that sac. Would u know what this is? Do i have a disease that should be watched?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The yellow pus ball on posterior pharynx is suggestive of abscess like condition. For that, confirm diagnosis by posterior pharynx examination.

If abscess is present and size is big, then incision and drainage might be needed. Antibiotic course can also be prescribed.

You need to consult an otorhinolaryngologist for the examination and discuss your case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
