Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Fever in a child could have many causes. Most of these causes are infectious like bacteria or viral infection.I will suggest you see the Doctor to investigate the cause of fever.Tests that may be requested include: full blood count, blood culture, stool exam, urinalysis, ESR, malaria test. Treatment will depend findings from tests. In the meantime, you may try the following: -Give him an anti-poyretic like paracetamol syrup -Reduce dresses on his body when temperature high -Cold compresses on forehead -Give the child enough fluids to prevent dehydration Your Doctor will take care of the rest.Fever in a child however should not be taken likely given the possibility of febrile convulsions in children at that his age.You will need to see the Doctor as soon as possible and if temperature too high, IV management should be considered. Hope this will help Best regards
