What Causes Ringing In Ears And Blurred Vision After A Cardioversion?

Hi, My boyfriend just had a cardioversion and had been in afib for a couple weeks prior to that. It s his second one, he had congestive heart failure two years ago and at 44 years old and is young. He was doing fine and I just came to check on him and he has blurred vision in one eye and ears are ringing. Is this something to be alarmed about and how long should we wait?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

He should get checked to a cardiologist as soon as possible. Check his blood pressure at home first. He needs to do an ECG and echocardiogram to get checked. I don't think that blurred vision and ringing in ears are normal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
