What Causes Retrograde Ejaculation After Urethral Surgery?

Hello, About 8 years ago I had urethral surgery (male) for appendectomy. I didn t think anything of it. I am 56 now, and have remarried, and now more sexually active. I have noticed that I may have retrograde ejaculation problems. When I ejaculate there is very little semen that is released (although I have had vasectomy nearly 18 years ago). Is there a solution to my ejaculation problems?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with a little sperm ejaculation following a previous vasectomy I will suggest you are gradually developing an oligospermia (low sperm count) possibly from your age and the previous urethral surgery

In view of this please do a sperm analysis and urethroscopy to detect any abnormality

Regarding your speculation of developing retrograde ejaculation following a previous urethral surgery (vasectomy) I will suggest this is very likely you will due to adhesions from your previous surgery

I hope this helps Regards
