I have had redness around my lips for about a month now and I have tried a bunch of different things like blistex, vaseline, aquaphor, etc. but it keeps coming back. I do have eczema on other places on my body and I am not sure if it might be that? I just want a treatment to make it go away.
Hello, Please evaluate your cosmetic and dental products used. Are there any recent changes that may be responsible for an allergic type reaction? Dietary changes also may be considered. Preservatives in many products are responsible for tissue reactions. You already have a known to have eczema and may be prone to autoimmune type reactions. It would be easy for you to eliminate a suspected product and see your reaction. The antihistamine Benadryl may offer some relief. You may need a prescription steroid lotion such as Betamethasone Dipropional to assist healing. See your doctor if the condition persists or worsens. A possibility is a reaction to your own salvia.
