Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Redness And Tenderness In The Knee Cap With Chronic Pain?
I am having strong knee pain. I believe the amuse was hitting my knee cap on the door handle of a kitchen cabinet. It has been several days and still very painful. I put a col pack on it and take Tylenol and the knee feels better, but the pain comes back as strong as ever. Doesn t really look swollen , but knee cap is quite red and tender.
It is normal for the pain to last around 1-2 weeks so I would recommend you to continue with the cool packs and Tylenol as these are helping. Take Tylenol every 4-6 hours to have full coverage for pain.If your knee feels unstable or is not any better in a couple of weeks or you notice any worsening please see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
