What Causes Redness And Irritation Around The Penis?

My husband is embarrassed to ask, so I will. He is very irritated around the outside of his penis, mainly at the end.The skin is slightly red and hurts if touched and today the opening burned when he voided. Anti fungal cream hasn t helped so tonight he applied neosporin and 1% cortisone cream. There s no open or raised areas but there are vert tiny dark dots. If you know how to clear it, we will give you our house!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. If you send a picture of the affected area then it will be more helpful to identify the condition. I would suggest ointments or creams containing combination of antifungal like miconazole, anti bacterial like gentamycin and corticosteroid like hydrocortisone for local application. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area and instead you can use saline or warm water.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
