What Causes Red Ring With A Pimple In Middle On A 3 Years Old S Skin?
My 3 year old has been showing these marks 2 to 3 at a time on his arm and leg. They almost look like lyme would appear. A Red Ring appears but with a pimple in the middle. It does not seem to itch or bother him and they go away in a day or two. I first noticed this back in August while we were away. I thought it was a fly bite. Now I notice them every so often when he wakes up. He was diagnosed with Lyme back in June, but was on antibiotics for 21 days. Could it be a spider lurking in his room and do they typically bite more than one spot at a time? thanks
Spiders typically bite in a pattern called "breakfast, lunch and dinner" because they come in little groups of bites. Spider bites do often have a "drop" in the middle - a little bump with some fluid.
The rash of Lyme disease (and you may already know this) is more of a target lesion, is pink and often much bigger than just a bug bite. And Lyme rash does not have to be centered around any sort of bite.
Bugbites in many children cause an "overreaction" in the skin because they are more sensitive, so it can look like a little hive. It they go away, I'd tend not to worry about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
