What Causes Red Patch On Penis Head And Psoriasis On Scalp?
Hi, I m a sexually active adult male. I have been tested regularly for stis and I currently have a small red patch on the head of my penis. I am planning on another test next week depending on my ships schedule, and while it doesn t meet any of the typical symptoms for hsv1 or 2 just curious what it could be or if I m just paranoid. I have psoriasis of the scalp and have folliculitis on my thighs occasionally just can t find anything on psoriasis on the head of the penis that looks similar. I m due out on my ship wed, mostly just asking so I know whether to push for a test sooner.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to yeast infection. A swab test should be done to rule out the condition. For such condition I would recommend using ointments containing combination of antifungal like miconazole, anti bacterial like gentamycin and corticosteroid like beclamethasone for local application. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area as it can irritate it more. You can use saline or warm water instead of this. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
