What Causes Red Painful Bump On Side Of Hand?

Hi I have something that looks like a zit on the side of my hand. It literally appeared over night. It has been here for two days now. The first day it was a red painful pump; just like a zit. The second day (today) it looks the same except now it has a white head. Is this a zit? How do I get rid of it?

Dermatologist 's  Response
According to your history it appears to be case of folliculitis which is inflammation of the hair follicles. You will have to take a course of oral and topical antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medicines for 5-7 days. This will surely help you.
