Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 42 yo male. With relatively no medical problems, no meds. Only had appendix taken out 10 years ago. For past few days, I ve noticed R groin/scrotal ache. Then tonight, I ve noticed blood in my urine and my stool had reddish stool mixed in. No stomach pains/ no diarrhea, no constipation. What could this be?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of being 42 and right groin or scrotal ache for the last few days, blood in urine, stool is reddish mix. No other symptoms, otherwise healthy. Appendectomy 10 years back. The probable reasons can be ureteric stone in the right side and may be some problem with colon, rectum or anal canal like hemorrhoids. I would advise you the following: Get a consultation of a General Surgeon to have a clinical evaluation, examination and get an order for further investigations like: Tests of blood, urine and stool to get the proper lab reports. Ultrasonography of the abdomen and whatever further tests may be required on the basis of clinical evaluation and the reports of the basic investigations to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. The final treatment will depend upon these.
