What Causes Red Bump On The Elbow?

I have this red bump on my elbow. It s small, about the size of a pencil eraser. It has been there for 4-5 months. I asked my dermatologist about it but she said it looked like maybe it was just a small cyst. She didn t put too much concern on it. It s still there are it really bothers me. It hurts if touched and is ugly too look at. I d like to know what it is.

Hello

Thank you for posting at HCM.

To confirm the diagnosis of whether it's a cyst or not, we need to do a thorough clinical examination as a very important Ulnar nerve rests there, and it being painful can be due to multitude of reasons, being red and painful does point to a cystic condition, but to be sure, we should get an FNAC done.

In our OPD setups for immediate relief we prefer Tab Cefixime 200mg 1-0-1 x 3 days, 1-0-0 x 10 days, Tab Amzesik MR 1-0-1 X 3 DAYS and then SOS. If it's oozing some fluid , you can make use of an antibiotic ointment

Thanks
