What Causes Recurring Sense Of Discomfort Under The Rib Cage?

I am 50. I am getting a slight funny feeling under the right rib cage not a pain almost just an annoying poke some times its gone other times it more noticeable. like something is just sitting against me inside. really hard to describe. been moving my bowels, I m on reflux meds. pap was fine. no endoscopy yet.

Gastroduodenal ulcers due to H.Pylori infection or GERD and high acid content is the main reason of this discomfort. You need an urgent endoscopy to look into the case. Pain and discomfort of this kind usually comes and goes and usually has a connection with meals too.

Anyway, I assure you not to worry please, and go straight to your Gastroentrologist for proper evaluation and treatment. Discuss with him about the need of gastroscopy and also go for a barium swallow study to completely understand your concerns.
