What Causes Recurring Fever, Cough With Mucus And Vomiting In A Toddler?

My son is 3years old. When he was 1 year from that time till now every month he got hey grade fever, cough with mucus and vomiting. Every month I have to give him antibiotic. He has done a course of myetka for 6 months but that again the same condition started now Dr give him zatofen. When I started this syrup he is suffering from runny nose, cough with mucus and on & off fever. Kindly tell me is he suffering from asthmetic bronchitis? What should I do for him?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son is having recurring fever, cough with mucus and vomiting which is because your child is suffering from viral infection. It could be due to infection of upper respiratory tract infection as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get complete examination done. You should go for blood and sputum tests. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants. You should give antipyretics to your son for fever relief such as calpol, paracetamol or adol suppositories acetaminophen. Gargle with saline water . Give steam inhalation to child. Use mist humidifiers in room. If fever increases do tepid sponging as well with cold water. Give throat lozenges as well. Give child multivitamin tablets.
