What Causes Recurring Facial Shingles With Blisters On The Face And Palate?

I have had facial shingles on the left side of my face since I was a teen ager. In earlier years, the typical blisters and swelling showed up on my cheek, eyelid, and even on the inside of my bottom lid. In more recent years, after dental work, I had blisters on the roof of my mouth. I have also had them on my gums and inside my cheek. Last year I suffered broken ribs on my left side, followed by a few blisters just below my eyebrow, pain in my left ear like a drill boring in and topical nerve pain all over the left scalp ,face and shoulder. I believe I now have it in my left sinus cavities and it seems to blur my vision. What can be done?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful rash.

I recommend using an antiviral treatment such as Acyclovir tablets.

I also recommend using vitamin c supplement to boost the immune system.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
