What Causes Recurring Bruise With Blisters Along The Outer Edge?

I had a sudden large bruise, about 1and a half inches. Round. And very dark. On my arm. I didn t remember any injury. Now the bruise is gone but it is still pink and now has bitchy bumps around the outer edge of the circle. This is the second time I have seen this. The other one was on my abdomen. What is it?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Bruise can occur due to trauma. In case there is no history of trauma, it can be due to platelet disorder or vessel wall disorder. I suggest you to get complete blood count, PT and INR. These investigations will determine the underlying cause of bruises.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
